Okay, so I am just new to the Silpada Designs business, in fact, I just received my business cards yesterday! I feel so important! I am serious! My full-time career is middle school teacher...I love my job and I love teaching but middle school children are not know for showing respect and I have never had a business card working as a teacher in FL! I now have something to throw in the restaurant fish bowls to win a free lunch! I have my first Silpada party tomorrow and I am so excited! I have a beautiful inventory of borrowed jewelry...I cannot believe the amount of jewelry some people have accumulated in just a few years! I got into Silpada to buy the jewelry at a discount, but even in my wildest dreams I didn't envision the kind of inventory I have seen in my upline women! So I have my products to display, my order forms, I have spoken with my hostess, the guests are invited, I have practiced my little speech*, and I even bought little teaser gifts for future hostesses! Like the Footloose song says, "I'm so excited!" I put a little * next to speech because with Silpada shows there is no formal presentation. I don't have to play games, I don't have to present, I don't have to be clever and witty. I do those things all year long in my classroom...now, I get to party with friends and offer the great advantages that Silpada offers! I have been to many home business parties over the years...Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Longeberger baskets, Southern Living, Stampin' Up, etc! I was so into stampin'up at the time that even sold that for 6 months...then we moved and I gave it up. I still have a closet full of rubber stamps, I wonder if I can eBay them? Speaking of eBay, isn't eBay wonderful? I have been hooked lately! My daughter got me into it over Abercrombie clothes, laptops, etc that she just "has to have" and I casually began searching Silpada jewelry...there is alot out there! Now, I have the catalog and I know which pieces are retired, which are current, what the prices are etc. I have a pretty fair background in the products. I know that I can purchase products at a discount through Silpada and so I only search for the REALLY GOOD deals! Of course they are in the first couple of days of bidding so nobody has really bidded yet! It is possible to buy the jewelry on eBay but my upline rep was horrified that I would even mention it...as it was explained to me, "That is completely unacceptable." Ouch. I shop at major retail stores...but I love to shop the outlets, thrift stores and even the Goodwill! Why pay full price when I can find it cheaper?! Even grocery stores give coupons...saving money is important and if I can find a way to do it, I will! I admit, on eBay I have found a couple of great bargains! I have also watched things sell at retail if not higher! Who is doing this selling? Reps! They don't even hide the fact that they rep for Silpada! But they are very smart and know how much each piece is worth so as a consumer, you are better off hosting a show and getting what you want for free!! The shows average $750 in sales which gives you, the hostess, $225 in FREE jewelry! You don't even pay shipping! But if you are addicted to eBay, like I am, remember, Silpada jewelry bought through the in-home sales channels has a lifetime replacement guarantee. Kinda nice for women like me that need that extra bit of insurance! And unless you are very familiar with the product line, it is easy to spend too much! I am kind of a touchy-feely person too...I like to hold what I am buying before paying for it. I am not a big online shopper for that reason! If you love sterling silver jewelry and want to try your hand at the eBay thing...go for it! If you want to touch the products, earn some for free and have a great time with friends...call me, email me or visit my website!! Thanks for reading and.... Have a blessed day! Margo P.S.
