Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens (formerly Jungle Larry's) was established as a botanical garden in the early 1920s, followed by a hiatus of neglect until post-WWII when Julius Fleischman restored it. In 1969, the 52-acre Caribbean Gardens opened as a zoo, housing the wild animal collection of Col. Larry Tetzlaff and his wife, Jane. The Caribbean Gardens retains its exotic botanical and animal quality today, with a continuing emphasis on nurturing and preserving the environment and endangered species.Shows at Naples Caribbean Gardens
